The MLM question, plainly

Enagic publicly describes Kangen as sold through "independent distributors" worldwide. Distributors earn commission on both direct sales AND on building their own downline. This is multi-level marketing — not illegal, not a scam, the units are real — but with three knock-on effects:

  1. You pay ~2× equivalent direct-distributed specs. The price funds the commission ladder, not extra hardware.
  2. Your salesperson has incentive to keep selling to you. Expect ongoing contact + invitations to "join the team."
  3. Resale within the Kangen ecosystem is strong — used units retain value among existing distributors.
What this means in practice: if you have a Kangen rep in the family who can pass through commission, or you genuinely want to participate as a business opportunity, the pricing makes sense.
