Why this transparency matters: Most "review" sites in this category fabricate numbers or repackage marketing copy as test results. Waterionizer.sg is owned by Prime Water Singapore — a brand we also sell — so we have an extra reason to be straight with you: if our numbers are wrong, the whole site's credibility collapses. Read this page; it's the most important thing on the site.

1. Where each brand's spec data comes from

For each of the 36 brands catalogued on this site, we fetched their public website directly. On every brand page, you'll see an "Official site" link — that's where we got the spec numbers, prices, model names, certifications, showroom addresses, and contact info.

If a brand updates their pricing or lineup after we publish, our page may go briefly out of date. We refresh roughly quarterly. If you see something wrong, email the editorial team and we'll correct it within 1 working day.

2. What we currently DON'T verify independently

Be aware of the limits of the current data:

3. The independent-testing roadmap

Through 2026 we're standing up an independent lab process so the numbers on this site can move from "manufacturer claim" to "verified by us". The full gear list, protocol, brand order, and our public commitment are at lab.html. Summary below:

1

Q2 2026 — Buy calibrated lab gear

Total budget ~S$600. Equipment list: Hanna HI-98129 pH meter, Hanna HI-98201 ORP meter, Trustlex ENH-2000 H₂ meter, plus calibration solutions. Anyone can replicate; the gear is available from local lab suppliers or AliExpress.

2

Q3 2026 — Test first 3 brands

Start with the brands easiest to access: Prime Water (own), Novita (retail at Tangs / Best Denki), and either Panasonic or Wells via demo unit. Three brands, full lab protocol, results posted publicly with date stamps.

3

Q4 2026 — Expand to top 8

Add Kemp, Kangen, AOX, AlkaViva via showroom visits or borrowed customer units. As each brand completes testing, the "Mfr-claim" badge on its page swaps to "Lab-verified."

4

2027 — Quarterly retests + new brands

Once the protocol is live, every brand gets retested quarterly. New brands entering the SG market get a 90-day lab review before they appear with claimed badges.

4. The protocol (once lab testing begins)

This is what we'll measure and how — published in advance so it can't be quietly massaged later:

Test water

Singapore PUB tap water, drawn from a standardised kitchen tap, at 26 °C, between 9am and 11am to control for water-treatment cycling. Pre-tested every session for starting pH (~7.8) and starting ORP (~+312 mV).

Instruments

pH meter

Hanna HI-98129. Two-point calibration before each session.

ORP meter

Hanna HI-98201. Monthly check vs 271 mV reference.

Dissolved H₂

Trustlex ENH-2000. Weekly check vs reference sample.

Flow rate

Graduated 1L jug + smartphone stopwatch. Three repeats averaged.

Sampling protocol

  1. Run unit at highest alkaline setting for 60 seconds to clear residual water
  2. Collect 250 mL into clean glass jug
  3. Read pH within 30 seconds of collection
  4. Read ORP after 60 second probe stabilisation
  5. Read H₂ within 90 seconds of collection (degasses fast)
  6. Three repeats per setting; report median, flag any outliers
  7. Publish raw spreadsheet on request

5. Conflict of interest, restated

Waterionizer.sg is operated by Prime Water Singapore Pte Ltd, which sells one of the brands reviewed on this site. We disclose this on every page footer + the top sticky bar + the about page.

The whole point of publishing methodology this transparently is so that the conflict can't be used to manipulate verdicts. The numbers come from manufacturer URLs we publish; you can verify any of them in 30 seconds.

6. Corrections + changelog
